Juggling Mother Life Work Life & a Business

ree

Welcome to my chaos – I mean, my blog!

Some people make it look easy, don’t they? Perfect posts, tidy homes, happy kids, glowing skin. But let’s be real—social media isn’t real life.

The reality? Being a mum and working is enough to make anyone wobble, never mind throwing a small business into the mix! Yet somehow, here we are… still standing (just about), and still showing up. And that, my friend, makes us pretty damn incredible. I truly believe that as mothers, we’re invincible—even when we don’t feel it.

So, welcome to my first blog post. I’ll try and keep it short and sweet, because if you’re anything like me, you’re probably juggling 100 things already and low-key arguing with yourself:

  • “Should I go to sleep?”

  • “Nah, let me scroll for 10 more minutes.”

  • “Should I do some housework?”

  • “Wait, I just had a random business idea—better write it down!”

And then it’s like:“Alright, now lose it… AHH AHH AHH!” (Eminem voice 🎤😂)

But honestly? It’s hard. And also It’s worth it.

The struggle is real! Quick rant… 😩

I thought I was pretty tech-savvy — turns out I’m a full-blown amateur. I’ve honestly cried over this website more times than I care to admit 😅. I’ve edited it on a laptop, an iPad, and even my phone (because apparently, sleep is optional now 💤). All because I had this big vision in my head… I wanted everything perfect. I wanted to launch the site then shout about our next event.

But life said, “Nah, sis.” 🙃

Now we’re three weeks out, and the site still isn’t finished (but hey, we’re getting there — and yes, I’m very excited! for our next event 🎉).

If you’re a business mum, you probably get it. You’ve got the vision, you know exactly how you want things to look… but time? Time’s like: uh uh honey. ⏳

Starting Little and Grown was born from love—inspired by my daughter, my “Little”, who sparked the whole idea. Watching her grow, listening to her wild and wonderful thoughts, and creating something together has been so special. It’s more than a business—it’s our bonding time, our shared dream. She’s basically my little manager at this point.

Let’s be honest…It’s Kavaya’s world. I’m just plodding along in it.

Thanks for stopping by—whether you’re a fellow mum, a dreamer, a hustler, or all three—I see you. We’ve got this. 💪🏾
